The best thing to do is use the smallest grout line your particular tile will allow and get a grout that closely matches the tile. Laying a marble floor without grout is possible so long as proper care is taken to assure your layout is perfectly square. The mud set tile behaves as a monolithic whole. Special types such as slate or quarry tiles often do not have edges uniform enough to look good with tight spacing.

Install marble tile without grout only for decorative purposes or to line sturdy vertical surfaces in spaces where debris will not collect and where moisture is minimal.

But the misconception that they can go groutless might leave your work looking unprofessional. No grungy grout to repair or refill.
